It’s my birth month, and I’m about to celebrate the last year of my 40s. I have a year or so to plan something really epic for my 50th.
I am finally getting caught up in the yard after my injury and the endless rain put us behind. I have a Vego Garden raised bed with my tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and marigolds. And I have a different metal raised bed with only strawberries. I still need to finish the olla pots that I’m putting in each bed to help with watering.
Three weeks ago, on Mother’s Day, I took Mom to Caesar’s Creek Vineyard in Xenia. I made a picnic, and we stopped at Caesar Ford Park first to eat. Then we stopped at a historic covered bridge before going to the winery.

Yesterday, I took a tour of Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus. It’s got quite the interesting history, and the chapel has some beautiful stained glass and mosaics by Tiffany.

Otherwise, my life has basically been work, yard work, sleeping, reading, and cooking. I always enjoy the changes in the garden this time of year. And it was with much excitement that I witnessed a red-headed woodpecker at our suet feeder three days in a row.

Oh, and our yard is now a certified wildlife habitat. A bucket list item for me. I just erected the sign today.
